I'll be Bach.

Actually, I'll be listening to Bach on Friday night. Six hours of Bach, 5-11 p.m. It's all part of my church's annual Bachanalia, which features choirs, quartets, individual artists, traditional instruments, all playing or singing Bach. My job? To coordinate the food and the food service.

It's turned into a nightmare of a job, but I will persevere. And I will never volunteer for it again. Unless, of course, it all goes brilliantly. ;-)

Easter Ensemble Blues

You know, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of my aqua suit for Easter. I am going to be hard-pressed to match last year's royal blue ensemble, which was hugely successsful (I had strangers coming up to me at the restaurant), but aqua might just be the ticket. I have two possible hats--a great wide-brimmed hat in micro-stripes of aqua, green, and silver, and a vintage Schiaparelli aqua mohair bubble toque--and my dragonfly purse is almost exactly the same color as the suit. I could wear the vintage silver jewelry Mike gave me several Easters ago or my Atencio blue topaz pendant, which I never seem to wear, even though it's absolutely stunning.

Hmmm...

Easter Woes

I need to drop 10 pounds by Easter. The weather has been spectacular lately, and I can't seem to get outside for a walk. The way it's going, I'm not going to be able to wear either of the suits that I had set aside for my Easter ensemble, and that is simply intolerable. If push comes to shove, I can always wear my aqua suit with the matching hat and the gorgeous dragonfly purse that I got on Etsy. Aqua is a good color on me and the most springlike of all colors. Unfortunately, it's such a distinctive suit that it will be very memorable from all the other times I've worn it.

Sigh.

Anyhoo, I have committed myself to a "green" Easter and wearing an ensemble comprised entirely of things that I already own, so the aqua suit is at least a fallback option, if the others don't work out. I am definitely not buying anything new. I can't. I gave up shopping for Lent. :-\

In Memoriam: Natasha Richardson

These pics are from "Zelda", a TV movie that Natasha did with Tim Hutton back in the early 90's. She is just so beautiful in this movie.

Tim and his hats.

I love the fact that Tim Hutton seems to have an affinity for hats. I already posted the great hats he wore on "Nero Wolfe". In his new show "Leverage", he's still wearing them:

And I love him for it. :-)

I'm so blue.

Or rather, my blog is once again blue. Of course, with Easter coming up, maybe I should consider pastels.

Just for today...

I'm going green!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

"Leverage" is my new favorite show...

...which means that I've been revisiting my status as a long-time Timothy Hutton fan. In the course of which, I have rediscovered how fabulous Tim looks in a hat. Here's a picspam from his turn as Archie Goodwin in A&E's wonderful "Nero Wolfe" series from 2001, 2002 to prove the point:

And here's a bonus hat pic from "French Kiss" (with the lovely Susan Anbeh, who is wearing a fetching hat, her own self):

This pic so perfectly captures my feelings about Twitter, that I felt that I must post it here for your enjoyment:

Just what I need for St. Pat's...

A shamrock fascinator:

I am filled with ennui...

...and it's really starting to tick me off. I suppose it could just be the early on-set of spring fever, but we had freezing rain and sleet in the Midstate today. Having spring fever under those circumstances is just a tad gauche, don't you think?
